Emergency Food
Food Banks
If someone is unable to buy food because of financial hardship they can get emergency food supplies from a foodbank.
To get vouchers for food ask for a referral:
GPs, health visitors,
social workers
local Citizens Advice Bureau
Other community support agencies may also be able to refer
When someone gets a referral, they will given a voucher to take along to your local food bank. At the foodbank they will be provided with a three-day food supply, along with recipes to help you make the most of this food.

Sharing Sheds and Community Fridges
Some areas also have sharing sheds and community fridges. These are usually community run and can be accessed by anyone. They are stocked with surplus food that shops cannot sell. To reduce waste, it is free to take items to keep people going and since the focus is on reducing waste there is no stigma.
