Meter Readings

Energy companies estimate how much energy households have used unless people are able to give them meter readings. This could mean that:

  • Individuals are paying more than they need to, putting a strain on their finances.

  • Individuals aren’t paying enough and without knowing and will find themselves with an unaffordable bill in the future.

Reading meters can be complicated because there are different types. Citizen’s Advice Scotland gives good clear guidance with images to help read different meter types for gas and electricity supply.

If Individuals are already struggling with their energy bills take a look the help from supplierssection for advice.
